Progressing from the workflow homepage

Note: workflows can also be progressed from the Tasks homepage control.

To progress a task from the workflow homepage, right click on the next outstanding task (it will be shown as a cogcog.png, due date duedate.png, or employee name employeename.png, depending on which view has been selected).

In the right click menu, you will see one of the following:

  • Complete Milestone
  • Select Outcome
  • Pass | Fail
  • Select employee

Complete Milestone

Select Complete Milestone to advance the workflow.

Select Outcome

Click Select Outcome. You can then choose from the outcomes listed (these are fully customisable in the workflow design):

Select the appropriate response to advance the workflow.

Pass | Fail

Select the appropriate response to advance the workflow.

Note: You are able to add comments to all of the above choices.  The presence of a note is indicated by a red triangle in the top right hand corner of the relevant cell.

Select employee

Click on Select employee, and make your selection from the employees listed. The step can now be completed as above.

Non milestone tasks

Sometimes a workflow is designed with tasks which are "non-milestones". This means that the column for this task may not be immediately visible.

If the workflow is waiting for a non-milestone task to be completed, click on the line, and any pending tasks will be displayed in a pop up box. You can then proceed by right clicking as above.

An alternative way to see all non-milestones, is to right click and select Show Non Milestones.
