Legislative & Compliance Updates

Carried Interest - Proof of equalisation partial

We had identified an issue with the taxation of Carried Interest in conjunction with the Proof of Equalisation Partial report.  It was not giving the 'Carried interest basic rate' in the gross up calculation/report when the Equalisation option was set to Specific but it was correctly doing so when the Equalisation option was set to Full. This now matches the SA302 calculation.

Reconciliation of Personal Tax Liability Report

Where the configuration key Tax-PersonalTaxLiabilityReport was present with a Key Value of 1, residential property gains were incorrectly taxed at 18% instead of 24%.

Interaction with MTDfIT - Delete tax year

We have update the API endpoints to facilitate a better synchronisation with Personal Tax to ensure the updating of MTDfIT information within the Central Tax Return Status.

2026 Returns - Advance Notice

We have recently received the draft 2026 Tax Returns, there are a large number of changes in areas such as Furnished Holiday Lettings and Foreign Income. Due to the complex nature of these changes we will only be converting the UK Furnished Holiday Lettings and NOT the EEA Furnished Holiday Lettings; these will need to be re-entered as Foreign Income in 2026.

There will be significant changes, consequently we strongly recommend that users do NOT roll forward returns to 2026 before loading the 2026.100 update in April next year.  If, however you need to do a roll forward for planning purposes we recommend that the 2026 return is printed (a pdf will suffice) and then deleted; this can then be rolled forward again to ensure the return is correctly updated.
