    Issue Description

    When submitting a VAT return through MTD for VAT, the submission may fail with an HMRC authentication error if the firm’s Agent Services Account (ASA) credentials have expired. CCH IFirm does not currently display a warning when ASA credentials expire, so the issue is only identified when the submission fails.

    Workaround

    1. Navigate to Firm Settings in CCH IFirm.
    2. Re-enter the firm’s Agent Services Account credentials.
    3. Save the changes.
    4. Retry the VAT return submission.
