Welcome to your CCH Dual Platform journey.

This guide gives you an easy-to-follow summary of the onboarding process for CCH IFirm, designed for current CCH customers who are moving to our cloud solutions.

Before starting the onboarding process, you will need to complete several steps listed in the pre-onboarding section of this guide.

After that, you will go through three phases of onboarding:

  • Activation – Here, you will activate your CCH iFirm subscription.
  • Implementation – In this phase, you will set up your new CCH IFirm product with your existing CCH Central solution and receive guidance on connecting to HMRC.

  • Enablement – This stage equips users with all the essential knowledge needed to make full use of the software.

Pre onboarding

To ensure you are able to use CCH IFirm the day you are activated, you must meet the CCH iFirm minimum specifications

Here are the prerequisites required:

  • CCH Central Service to be in a running state.

  • The following Microsoft files to be installed:

  • Microsoft .Net Framework 10 Runtime

  • ASP.NET Core 10 Runtime

  • Microsoft Edge WebView 2

Note: The Microsoft installation would be upon:

  • Any Server running CCH Services for the Central system in question.

  • Any Server where the main Deploy folder resides.

  • Any end user machine where the end user is launching/using software.

Additional
guidance is available via
CCH PreRequisites, which contains access to the above packages along with installation guidelines.

During the completion of these tasks, a Customer Success Manager will contact you to verify that all requirements have been fulfilled. Upon confirmation, they will proceed with the activation of your CCH iFirm subscription.

Activation:

Upon confirmation of completion of the pre-onboarding task, we will initiate your activation process. Wolters Kluwer is responsible for completing all tasks within this stage.

Please note that CCH IFirm is accessed through the Wolters Kluwer Account. Each organisation must designate one or more 'Admin' users who are authorised to add or remove other admins and regular members. If your organisation does not currently have an admin user, one will be established during the activation phase.

Once the activation is complete, you will receive an email informing you of your activation status.

Implementation:

Following the activation of your CCH iFirm, configuration and setup are required. Your organisation’s Wolters Kluwer Account Administrator and CCH Central Administrator (Superuser) are responsible for completing the necessary setup tasks.  These tasks are also explained in the following eLearning resource: CCH iFirm: Administrator essentials.

  1. CCH iFirm Organisation Management:

  • Wolters Kluwer Account admin to Login here.

  • Provide access for your end users to the required CCH iFirm products. Note: CCH iFirm Administrators automatically gain access to all iFirm modules licenced to you. Regular users must be granted access to each module individually.

  • Note: Now that you are subscribed to CCH iFirm platform products, you should use the ‘Organisation Management’ app to invite members to join the Wolters Kluwer Support Portal and stop using the Wolters Kluwer Account Support Admin Tool for member invitations.

  1. CCH Central Task Permissions:

  • In CCH Central, new task permissions have been created for each of the modules to enable firms to select which employees can access the relevant modules in CCH iFirm. Note: Without this permission, users will not be able to launch the relevant module:

  • #Client#LaunchiFirmMTDfIT,
    #Client#LaunchiFirm
    PT,
    #Client#LaunchiFirmAP and
    #Client#MigrateiFirmAP

  1. CCH iFirm console

  • This allows firms to authenticate and monitor the syncing of edited Contact and Client records from CCH Central to CCH iFirm. Navigate to File > Maintenance > Service Settings > CCHiFirm Console. Only one employee's credentials are required to login. But, that one employee must be set as an Admin within CCH iFirm. Note: a CCH Central service restart is required on the Main Server. The CCH iFirm name and ID will appear after using the sign in button to authenticate. CCH iFirm Console

  1. Authorise CCH iFirm MTDfIT with HMRC

2026-08 Sole Trade Template with Transactions xlsx

2026-08 UK Property Template with Transactions xlsx

2026-08 Foreign Property Template with Transactions xlsx

These templates have been designed to allow transactions to be recorded for MTD for Income Tax quarterly filing purposes, suitable for non-VAT registered clients. The templates are additional to those within the product, which are more suited to Wolters Kluwer customers who already have a workbook or template that they send to clients.

The transactions are captured for all 4 quarters within this spreadsheet. Formulas have been used to categorise the transaction to the correct period and correct MTD category.

The dates of the transactions should be entered in the format of dd/mm/yy. Once the submissions period dates are entered on the ‘Totals for submission’ tab, the transaction dates are validated to ensure they fall within the entire period covered by the quarterly submissions.

Cells shaded in green must have values entered manually.
Cells shaded in pink should not be edited as they contain formulas. Doing so could break the integrity of the spreadsheet.

You are free to add more sheets to this template but the sheet 'Totals for submission' should always be the first sheet shown. Of course, you can amend any aspect of this template but be aware that doing to may break the formulas
